Padma Shri awardee Anu Aga is a renowned businesswoman and social worker. She served as chairperson of Thermax Ltd, India’s leading player in energy and environment management. Aga was the recipient of the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship and pioneered the Corporate Social Responsibility movement in India. She currently serves as chairperson of the Thermax Social Initiative Foundation which runs the CSR activities of Thermax. Aga is also closely associated with Akanksha Foundation and the Teach for India Initiative which attempts to bridge the inequity gap in education in India. In 2012, she was nominated to Rajya Sabha,the upper house of the Indian Parliament by President Pratibha Patil.
